Work

Robert joined Arnold Hill & Co as a tax manager in 1986 becoming a partner in 1998; he now oversees the personal tax department. He is a chartered accountant, a chartered tax advisor as well as being a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners.

Robert advises generally on all personal tax issues and is frequently asked to advise on issues such as:

  • Planning for non-UK domiciled individuals
  • The advantages of and tax efficient extraction of funds from offshore trusts
  • Capital gains entrepreneur’s relief
  • Maximising capital gains tax exemption where clients own more than one residence
  • Inheritance tax planning
  • Partnerships, including LLP’s

Robert also advises on:

  • The tax aspects of re-structuring of corporate groups
  • Creation of charitable trusts
  • Share options
  • Valuations of shares in private companies
  • Tax liabilities of trusts and estates
  • Non-UK resident landlords

Outside Interests

Robert is a keen and competitive ballroom dancer. He also enjoys carpentry and metalwork. Robert is married with two adopted children from El Salvador.
